SICS Senior In The Spotlight: Nicholas Audette
Nicholas Audette, a 17-year-old senior at Sabis, has been attending the school since 2nd grade. His maturity and academic efforts have not gone unnoticed by his peers and teachers. He possesses a constant curiosity about the world and others around him.
“Nick is a leader, a mentor, and has won numerous scholarships throughout his high school career,” says Dean Barry, history teacher at Sabis. “He doesn’t quit and is adaptable to any situation. He’s the type of kid who’s going to change the world.”
With a 4.0 GPA, Nicholas has taken every AP class that Sabis has to offer. He excels in math and science and participates in the school’s Model Congress and Model UN.
“Throughout my academic career, I’ve always gotten higher grades in science and physics, and it’s something that I’ve always been interested in,” he says. He has been accepted by several colleges including UMass Amherst and Roger Williams, and his ultimate goal is to become a physician or physician’s assistant.
Time management and scheduling have been crucial keys to his success in his AP courses, especially since he works well under pressure.
All in all, Nicholas has a humble outlook on his future. “I’ve learned that I don’t have to be number one to succeed,” he says. “I know there will be people better than me in my field, or better overall, but let’s see how close I can get to the top.”
