Here are instructions on how to use your smart phone to participate in online activities: (THANK YOU Mrs. Mudgett)
Dear SICS families,
Due to the rapid responses and participation for the technology survey we are extending it until 3P today. Please click on link below (UPDATE 4/8/20) to complete the survey if you haven’t already. Week4: We hope you enjoyed our heartfelt video messages. Tomorrow, Friday April 10th is a holiday and as such we will be offline to enjoy the long weekend with loved ones. We encourage our SICS families to do the same! Be well.
Also, don't forget to check out our updated Supporting Departments' Page.
TECHNOLOGY ACCESS SURVEY: Please take a moment to complete this brief survey (unlinked 4p 4/9) on technology access to help us prepare for online learning needs. This will only be available until end of business today; at this time we are just gathering preliminary data.

SABIS Staff is missing our students! Check out these videos to see some familiar faces.
As we close out Week3 we are feeling the effects of this challenging time, but staying our course and continuing to do our best. We hope that first and foremost our SICS families are healthy and safe. WEEK3 we uploaded DESE’s letter to families (UPDATE 3/31/20), updated the Supporting Departments’ Page, created a safe learning environment using Microsoft TEAMS/ with email addresses for all students (to be given out in Week4), stepped up our student outreach, planned our current path with our seniors (to be sent out Week4), and delivered a message from our school leader, Maretta Thomsen.
For Special Education Families: related service providers will be contacting you directly to set up plans that will work for you and your child during our school closure.
FOOD UPDATE 4/3/20
Starting this Monday 4/6/20, Sodexo (our district's food service provider) will:
- add two additional meal distribution sites: Sumner Avenue School and Milton Bradley School
- add drive-up options at Indian Orchard, Milton Bradley, Sumner Avenue, Talmadge and Warner
- revise the pick up policy to include adults, not just students under the age of 18 years. The only question they will ask is if you live with school-aged children. No ID required.
- begin distributing dinner meals
Also note: due to the observance of Good Friday (4/10/20) meal distribution next week will be from MONDAY-THURSDAY, with Thursday's distribution to contain 4x breakfast, 4Xlunch and 4Xdinner. Sodexo will provide the bags to carry the food home.

Dear SICS Families,
As Week2 comes to an end we are grateful for a wonderful team of dedicated students, families, and staff. This week, we heard from our SICS families that the website was difficult to navigate so we created a larger and easier to read notification on the homepage with a single link to the COVID19 UPDATES page. The academic enrichment on SABIS Digital Platform (SDP) was uploaded in Week1, but in Week2 we found that the system works better for both teacher and student if the files are uploaded in PDF format and have changed our uploading procedure to reflect this. The number of SDP users is growing substantially as families are actively accessing our resources during the closure. In Week2 we also added additional resources from our supporting departments (reference UPDATE 3/25/20).
One additional resource that MA residents are finding useful is https://mass211.org/.
Spring is in the air today! We are, once again, asking our teachers to unplug this weekend and enjoy their families and loved ones. We ask that our SICS families do the same!
We will resume communications on Monday 3/30/20.
Dear SABIS families,
Today Governor Baker extended the school closure to Monday May 4, 2020. We are committed to our SICS families and will continue to roll out supports during this time. Know that you are in our hearts.
Thank you for letting us know that it was difficult to find the COVID-19 updates on our homepage. Good news! This has been addressed (obviously!) and the new revision has an easier to find and read link.
Academics is a big piece of our school, but could not happen without the encouragement of some of our other departments such as student life, discipline, nursing, adjustment and guidance counselors. Please click Supporting Department's page to find additional resources that you may find helpful during our school's closure.
Hello SICS Families:
Sending heartfelt well-wishes as we come to a close the first week of our school’s shutdown. We had some steep learning curves and a few unexpected lagging periods due to high volume internet/ website usage; however, when all said and done, we are proud of all that has been accomplished this first week in these unprecedented times. We are asking our teachers to unplug this weekend and enjoy their families and loved ones. We ask that our SICS family do the same!
We will resume communications on Monday 3/23/20.

Enrichment Opportunities UPDATE: 3/17/20
Dear SICS Families:
Many of you have been inquiring about academics during our school’s closure. Enrichment work is being provided during this time. We will be utilizing the SABIS® DIGITAL PLATFORM (SDP) to roll out these opportunities. Reference the links below to help you navigate the SDP, as we realize that not every family has engaged with this platform. While we are in the process of implementing this AND if you do not have a current SDP account, your AQCs will email you the materials in the interim. This mode of communication will cease by Friday 3/20/20; moving forward all enrichment opportunities will be accessible only through the SABIS® Digital Platform.
Please reach out to your AQC for login/password information.
